Baltic Federal University named after Kanta and Batman.one LegalTech Hackathon

On August 27, the participants of the hackathon "LegalTech: countering extremism on the Internet" were engaged in the creation of information products in the field of public safety and countering extremism from morning to evening.

The hackathon participants worked on the BotMan low-code platform. One, which has been a technical partner of the project for two years.
The final defense of the projects was approached by six teams, which included participants from more than ten regions of Russia. Among them are representatives from Moscow and St. Petersburg, Belgorod and Sverdlovsk region, Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the Far East.

As part of the public defense, the IT Guards team performed, demonstrating to the expert commission and colleagues the TerraBot project, which is an educational chatbot in the form of a textual quest that allows the user to independently choose a scenario for the development of a common narrative line. The developers noted that gamification as part of preventive activities will allow faster formation of anti-extremist consciousness among representatives of the younger generation.
The team with the non-trivial name "Dmitry was nearby ..." presented the concept of a smartphone application called "chaika". This application has a widget that can be placed on the lock screen of a mobile device. Accessing this widget allows you to send a distress signal to the 112 service within two minutes, indicating the type of threat and providing the applicant's geolocation data. The authors noted that for the younger generation, a phone call causes additional stress, and some situations that may arise in life, in principle, exclude the possibility of using a telephone connection.  The purpose of this product is to optimize the time for citizens to seek help in case of an emergency.

In turn, the GreenLine team, led by Maxim Kaletin, a student at Belgorod State University, presented a product that is more focused on residents of those regions of the Russian Federation where a counter-terrorism operation regime has currently been introduced. In an extremely short time, the guys developed a website and a chatbot aimed at promoting and engaging in volunteer activities. Thus, the chatbot functionality allows the user to join a volunteer organization, and by accessing the product's web page, you can specify the geography of the nearest shelters.

As part of the volunteering theme, the LADYBUGS women's team also performed. The girls offered a chatbot, which is an information and legal portal directly or indirectly related to volunteer activities. In addition, with the help of the program's functionality, it is supposed to be possible to provide perspective coverage of volunteer projects and foundations, donations to which will be safe. The functionality of the presented product at the current stage allows you to categorize questions on volunteer topics depending on the user's intentions.

At the end of the evening, the Hahaton team performed, focusing the commission's attention on the frequent cases of raider seizures against commercial legal entities. The guys have developed a digital questionnaire for business owners, filling out which will identify and minimize the threat of illegal seizure of commercial structures. After completing the survey, the system analyzes the specified parameters and provides a brief summary with recommendations that must be taken to minimize the risk of losing control over the legal entity.

The summing up and awarding of the hackathon participants will take place as part of the closing ceremony of the International Summer School "Professional skills of a lawyer: the path to success".

The event is supported by Rosmolodezh.Grants.
